In high school, I was lucky enough to attend a one-week Art Enrichment Program at Boyd River. Though it was a short stay, it was an experience I will never forget. I was in a papermaking course among 15 other students. The teacher taught us the techniques she used to make her sculptures, and papermaking with plant fibers. After high school I attended the Ontario College of Art and Design. In 2004 I won first place in LCBO’s 2004 Student Social Responsibility Creative Competition. In 2005, I received my Bachelor of Design degree. Today, with support from the Ontario Arts Council, I am teaching paper light sculpture making skills to high school students throughout Ontario.
